Trekkers’ rules

Event Rules
  • All team members must be aged 16 years and over, unless accompanied by adults.
  • Each team member must sign a waiver form and a personal information form at the commencement of the trail.
  • Each team must have at least 2 to 6 members to start the trek
  • Each team member must wear their team number throughout the event.
  • Teams must check in and out together at each designated check point on the trail. Volunteers at checkpoints will not check in or out teams with members unaccounted for.

  • In the case of an emergency, team members must contact the Safety Officer as soon as possible.
  • If you want to withdraw from the event at any time, you must ensure that you have reported to the nearest checkpoint to be signed off.
  • If a team should get down to only 1 person, this team must accompany another team between checkpoints. This is for safety reasons only and the team will retain their identity (name) and number.
  • Each checkpoint will close at a certain time. Therefore if a team has not departed a checkpoint by the nominated closing time, the team will be withdrawn from the event and will be advised not to proceed.
  • A team’s finishing time will be recorded as the last team member reports to the final checkpoint.
  • Teams must respect the environment and take out any rubbish with them. There will be bins provided at Checkpoints.
  • Dogs are not permitted on the trail and at checkpoints.
  • Each team must carry at least one First Aid kit. Any specific medication required by team members is their personal responsibility.
